I attempt to paint the animal in the animal, and in some cases, the human in the animal.

Through texture, gesture and color, I create my distinctive critters—each one illustrating qualities that are unique.

I don't stop at just painting that which makes a cat a cat or a dog a dog. Instead, by playing with those qualities and giving my animals an almost human personality, I find that people can relate to my work on an emotional level.

Humor is a major ingredient in the visual meals I cook up, because I enjoy entertaining the mind as well as the eye. I'm always pleased when one of my critters chew on a person's funnybone.
